Promark SPYR Soft Marimba Mallet
By collaborating with world-renowned percussionists, designers, and educators, Kevin Shah and Tony Nunez have created the Spyr series, a full suite of mallets designed with the educator in mind. The Spyr series covers the complete spectrum of sounds required on keyboard instruments for the variety of ensembles and performances that educators lead, eliminating the need for multiple mallet lines.
The SM2, a part of the Spyr series, is an ideal "soft" marimba mallet for ensemble playing. By molding a soft, synthetic rubber in a slightly larger size than traditional marimba mallets, the SM2 achieves a full, strong fundamental tone from the instrument without excessive weight. This mallet also features a slightly thicker handle for improved balance and durability.
The optimal marimba range for the SM2 is F2 - C5, and it has a 1 3/8" Round Core wrapped in yarn, with a length of 16 3/4". All Promark mallets are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
